Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM)

The two lead schools have well established specialisms in STEM.

Skipton Girls’ High School, the first all girls’ school to be designated a Specialist Engineering school, has strong relationships with a wide range of organisations in education and industry.  The school has gained national and international recognition for its work in STEM and students have presented at national conferences. Feversham College is a Specialist Science College with a strong innovative Science team who support colleagues in schools across the alliance.

In addition to the above, we are a partner, with STEM Learning Ltd., in the Northern Lights Science Learning Partnership, designing and delivering CPD in primary and secondary schools across our region.

We also lead on Triple Science Support, and Stimulating Physics collaborating with the Media Museum in Bradford and with The STEM Centre, Bradford University to deliver local science support.  We work with Sheffield Hallam University to deliver annual Teacher Subject Specialism Training in Physics in the state of the art STEM centre at Skipton Girls’ High School.
